WIP Cloudships

 So, after more than a year without posting anything I have now suddenly made 3 posts in one day! 

This time up are some flyers that I am working on. These items are mostly built, though in some cases I have left them unfinished to make it easier to prime and paint. The ship pictured above does not need paint as it is a pre-coloured model. (but it will need some weathering) It is a small skiff that was clearly modeled after the Star Wars sand skiff, just a lot smaller. I actually have 4 of the Kenner sand skiff toys waiting to be converted to Martian and American air ships.

This years first major project will be to finish off these fine airships!

 I have a dozen of these poorly base coated models that I am hoping to save, and finish off this year, hopefully in February. Along with these scudders, I have one large cloudship that also needs to be completed.

To build my cloudship, I must first disassemble the skiff

 

I figure the best way to convert this will be to take it down to it base frame.

At long last I have one of these (actually 2 er, uhm make that 3 possibly 4) Okay, 5, but that's it, no more...

 

Almost like the holy grail, to me, I have been hoping to find one of these in a yard sale, or geek store. On a whim, I decided to search online again, finding some on Ebay. Shipping to Canada would be costly, and the asking price after conversion meant they would run $100 or more. 

Then I noticed the Amazon add in the corner, I had low expectations, but decided to check them out, what could be the harm. Well amazingly they had some, and with free shipping it came to $45.00 more or less. Some how I did not realize that these had been re-released last year, more fool me!
